The Moving Adventure

Moving across the country is something people do every day but after being in the same place for over 20 years it becomes an adventure. To say we have too much stuff became the understatement of the move. 150+ boxes on top of a house full of furniture is one huge truck full of stuff.

I pictured myself ,like the photos of the depression, with junk strapped to the top of the car and clouds of dust in the distance. Not so, our move was as effortless as such a thing can be because of a wonderful moving company, Dircks Moving Company, in Phoenix, AZ. They packed everything, even stuff I had forgotten I owned. George, our truck driver, was wonderful and the loading and unloading crews were fabulous and patient.

Now I get to unpack and put things away. I can't find my silverware yet, keep opening 4 drawers when I want something but I will get it down soon. I unwrap a few things and say,"I wonder why I have been keeping this?" The boxes are getting slowly emptied and I am treasuring the experience of enjoying finding new places in a new place for all my treasures and art work.

We have moved to Georgia from Arizona were we will have seasons again. It's fall here and beautiful crisp days and beautiful colored leaves. Making new friends and finding our way around is taking us on new adventures.
